Friday
1 PM FEstival opening
Festival Opening at Residenzplatz with art installation by Sebastian Fürst
3 PM Exhibition opening
Exhibition Opening at studio12 thinking of Passau (oder ganz allgemein: art from Passau. Contributions from local artists.)
5 PM Live music by Cloud Nine Jam (jazz, funk), wine tasting and food by Julius Mai
Live music: cloudnine [jazz, funk] Atmosphere and jam by the young and talented band from Passau cloudnine. Since their first gig in 2020, they have played a lot of times in our beloved studio. One of our common highlights was their concert during the final event of the Passau Jazzfest 2021 “Poetry, Hiphop & Jazz”, curated by studio12. More info here: https://www.cafe-museum.de/jazzfest-passau/studio12-praesentiert-poetry-hip-hop-jazz-618.html
On YouTube you can watch the Covid-Lockdown Session with cloud nine in full cast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zdE_9PLOGM
Food & Wine Special Apéro (snacks, the mediterranean way) is prepared by Julius Mai. He is one of our dear friends with whom we went to university. But instead of choosing a career in politics, he went for his passion and started a chef apprenticeship. Now he is cooking with and learning from Passau’s most creative chef: Simon Hannig from Umami Bar, HanGoRo, Esskultur Forum, and all their other projects they have going on.
8 pm DJ: LEA [Disco, House]
DJs are a huge part of the studio12 atmosphere. They select the music and set the vibe, but not as you would expect it in a club. At the studio they are playing their tunes in the background and that’s how they create the atmosphere in our place. (We are happy to meet you on the dance floor in Zauberberg, Institut or when lieberscholli re-opens again, hehe).
back to LEA: she is Bavaria’s Disco queen! Her sets are fire, her style is amazing! And next to DJing, she is doing her magic in various design jobs, regularly mesmerizing us with her graphic art for studio12, regulate hiphop events, and others. Come and join the vibes!
11 PM DJ: So.undso b2b Kruemell & Róbert Maximilián
Now we are entering the heavy-weight championships! All of them have lots of years of experience in DJing and … collecting vinyl!
So.undso is a DJ duo consisting of Chris and Markus. Chris, Passau based, is regularly playing at the studio and entertaining with his music collection with all things that groove! (If LEA is disco queen, he might be disco king!). Besides DJing So.undso is also in charge of releasing music! Their record label is called „Dance Petrol Records“, featuring their own music and other international artists.
Kruemell & Róbert Maximilián are two DJs from Passau’s OG music collective „Back to Vinyl“. Robert was one of the first DJs to first ever play in studio12. We love him for his brought selection of house music. Thanks to him, we are constantly discovering new sub genres and different styles within house music, like Detroit or breakbeat.
Kruemell’s first (or one of the first) gig(s) at the studio12 was last year, when he celebrated his birthday at our place! In our memory, it was one of the finest nights in the studio. He brought pretty much all of the „Back to Vinyl Boys“ … this ended in roughly ten people DJing at the studio that night. And what a musical trip this was … Kruemell’s vinyl collection is insane, up to thousand discs in his home! He is selecting super lovely tunes. Last time we danced to his tunes was at Zauberberg where he was closing the night (psst, nach „Back to Vinyl“ Party in May at Zauberberg!).
12 aM Midnight Special by Eugen
Midnight Snack by Lord Steugen Lord Steugen alias Eugen Lang is not only preparing this lovely midnight snack, but he is also co-organizing this festival with us. Also, he is the co-founder of the Regulate hiphop parties. We became friends two years ago when he started coming to the studio. With his deep love for hiphop music and culture, he quickly started DJing regularly at our place, blessing us with hiphop, r’n’b, amapiano, future beats and what not.
He is a true hiphop head and good friend. Keep an eye on his fashion line “SUDDEN”, releasing end of April. Release party at studio12 on 29/04 later this month.

2 PM Panel Talk: (Sub-) Culture in Passau: Developments of the Last 10 Years
Where and how does (sub-) culture exist in Passau? The participants will reflect on what constitutes subculture, where it can be found in Passau, and how it has grown in the city over the last 10 years. Challenges and potentials for the cultural and creative scene will be discussed. In addition, insights will be given into the cultural and creative work of the panel participants. The audience is warmly invited to participate in the discussion, to complement the picture of the (sub-) cultural scene of the city with further examples, actors, and anecdotes.
Participants:
Jan Taubmann, known as a DJ and for his various projects. With his crew and music collective Villa TuNichtGut he is responsible for making you dance, wether it was in one of Passau’s only off-locations and underground raves back in 2015-2016, at Schwerelos Festival or in music club lieberscholli.
Marlies Resch is co-owner and manager of Passau’s live music club Zauberberg, founder of Rosa Laub Festival and frontwoman of Grunge-Rock band Flokati. She is passionate about providing a space for local and regional bands to perform and promoting cultural engagement. We are looking forward to get to know Marlies more and hopefully to connect even more to Zauberberg and its cosmos. One is for sure: we love checking out this beautiful space for broadening our musical horizon and dancing our feet off - or hanging around at their bar!
Adrian Tadić and Finn Kirberg are the founders of studio12. Starting as a cafébar, the studio has evolved into a hub for the city's creatives and artists to connect, collaborate, and grow together. Adrian and Finn are passionate about promoting culture and creating meaningful connections between people. At studio12, they co-create a variety of events, including concerts, DJ sessions, literature nights, exhibitions, discussions, and more. Before studio12 and one of their first and most influential projects was with „polyphon soundsystem“, organizing happenings in off-locations. Moderation: Lara Fischer

Kateryna Demerza (Berlin, Vitsche e.V.)
Moderation: Theresa Kennett (Passau, Lybid)
8 pm DJ Set: TEJA
Carsten TEJA Grün is playing regularly at studio12. Our paths crossed during a covid-lockdown. Instead of meeting at an open decks session at our DJ booth, TEJA contacted us on social media and suggested to record a mix for our podcast series on SoundCloud. We are happy to have him as a studio12 resident, regularly exploring new styles of electronic music. Also, he’s a regular guest to our various cultural events. A true man of culture, and very interesting artist. Ask him about other stuff he digs!
11 pm DJ Set: ROKKO
Rokko made our subcultural hearts bounce higher when we first heard his music on SoundCloud. We immediately spotted his love for musical endeavors down a range of sub-genres (that is besides the 4/4 grooves you mostly hear in electronic music). Last summer he played his first slot at studio12 - all vinyl and all bangers! Since then he is mesmerizing us with suuuuuper smooth house music, drifting off to disco and bringing in those breakbeat tunes to underline his sets with a certain playfulness. Don’t know what we’re talking about? Well, come and listen!

For Sunday he is bringing “soulful grooves from around the world”. Exciting for sure. Come listen, and have a good time with us!
2 pm live: Elimako
Get ready for a cozy afternoon with this life performance by Elimako. Independent artist from Bamberg, producing her own music since 2016 and feeling comfortable somewhere between RnB, acoustic & (alternative) pop. After playing her first public concert in Nov' 2022 we're more than happy to welcome her here once again for an intimate performance.
4 pm Aimless Exhibition
Sundays are for inspiration and mind travels … so drop by for the second release (or better: exhibition opening) of Aimless Exhibition, Edition #001!
Aimless Exhibition is a project that is creating places and opportunities for creatives to publish their art and thoughts, and whatever is important to them.
The founders of the project are Emily Karačić and Maximilian Huber. Both of them became an integral part of the studio12 vibe and family, as both are passionate creatives who are constantly exploring their crafts (especially photography), and as both are contributing to the local creative scene with their passion and warm character. Also, both of them make great bartenders and we are more than happy to collaborate with these two beautiful souls, whether it is in hospitality or the arts and culture.
19.30 PM Discussion: Pop culture then and now - Here and there, in Passau.
Pop culture is a multifaceted phenomenon that is constantly evolving. In this discussion round, we want to dive deeper into this topic and explore the dynamic nature of pop culture together. Starting with a video impulse from the end of the last millennium, when some major pop-cultural expressions emerged (including Punk, Hip-Hop, House/Techno, Grunge), the focus shall be on the more recent developments. These have been characterized by a very high diversity in simultaneity since the Web 2.0, which is no longer limited to metropolitan areas, but can also be seen in places like Passau. The current local situation forms the focal point of our pop-cultural considerations.
Moderation: Dr. Florian Wobser (Philosophy, Uni Passau)
